Like I said in my lame attempt at adding backstory, I think many of the players have "regular" jobs in real life, so they can only play the weekends. Personally, I have enjoyed it a lot, since I can follow along with the games without it taking up an entire day of playing to sim 2 weeks.
I'm not sure how this mirrors real life, but it's a 25 man roster with 6 international import players and unlimited reserve roster. Strangely enough, lot of the foreign players are Venezuelan. The way OOTP sets it up, there's 12 pitchers and 13 hitters. Obviously there is an overkill of pitchers for only 2 games a week. I don't think OOTP sets this type of league up very well, but it is sort of a novelty so I don't really hold it against them.
