This weekend we faced Novara, another cellar-dwellar team, for a two game series in Novara. Since the season is so short, every game is important, and sweeping the bad teams is crucial.

In game 1, we easily dominated them with a 15-0 win, scoring 11 runs in the 5th. Mazzuca was on fire, going 5-6 and breaking the record for most hits. Chiarini hit his first home run of the year. We took 10 walks and only struck out 4 times, which was excellent. My only problem, if you can even call it that, was that Justin Germano started and only struck out 1 batter. He was very effective though, not even allowing an extra base hit. Germano is a groundballer with an 8 in control, so I actually do not mind this move by our manager to put him in instead of going back to our ace.

However, that game wasn't as good as game 2, where we won 20-0. Diaz hit the only home run, giving him his first of the year. Anthony Ortega got the start, throwing 6.1 and striking out 4. Cherubini came in to finish it off throwing 2.2 innings.

Another great game, but we need to keep pushing.
