I started a new game a few days ago (v3.1.84, sandbox commish mode) and pretty much rebuilt the whole NHL, did tons of trades and new contracts. I'm still at day one, so I still have the "Save as Quickstart" option. I was hoping that I could bring the juniors into that game by starting a new game (v3.2.89) using the saved quickstart but it doesn't seem to work. Is there some kind of detour I could go to add those tournaments or can I stop thinking about it?

No, sorry, the quickstart from the older version would be using the data that was in then, which didn't include the junior tournaments. Starting a new game from it will still have the older data, there's no way to migrate the new stuff to an older quickstart.
