And there it is.
The Denver Brewers and their MVP center fielder Joe McPhillips have agreed to a deal that could keep the spark plug player in a Brewers uniform for the rest of his career, or at least close to it.
Denver fans are ecstatic. The 26-year old is now rich. And Brewers management is pleased. Though whenever you make that long a commitment to a player there is also some apprehension. The hope is that McPhillips, having come into his own as a super star in the league the past 2 seasons, with his strong work ethic and good all around skills will be a good investment for the future. But with his all-out style of play and having shown some propensity for injury, there is also worry that they may have bit off a bit more than they will wish to chew in the future.
Still, overall, a good day to be a Denver Brewers fan. And a good day to be Joe McPhillips.
