I had made a post some time ago, quite off the cuff, about combining Civ and OOTP and how cool that would be.
Baseball could be a Technolgy discovery that adds to Culture. The first civ to discover it would get a Cooperstown Wonder. Once the Corporation and Railroad technologies are discovered then Organized Baseball could be built and incorporating a game within the game, a fictional OOTP league within the Civilization structure, could be established based on the population and economy of Civ cities.
Civilizations that had Baseball would be friendlier towards each other, and those with cities in the same Organized Baseball structure, friendlier still.
Lose players to war when your civ goes to war.....this could be rich.
