Walkers news: Toglia to IL; Rutland comes up from AAA
The St. Louis River Walkers continued to fight the injury bug, as rookie outfielder Michael Toglia suffered a strained oblique while running the bases against Twin Cities on May 7.
The 24-year-old Toglia, who was batting .213 with a homer and eight RBIs in 24 games with the River Walkers is expected to not be able to play for a week.
Being called up from AAA Memphis is outfielder Steve Ruland.
In 24 games with the Redbirds, Ruland has hit .284 in 24 games with seven homers and 18 RBIs.
