Halton Hills Elite Bulldogs | Contract Extensions
Ilya Kovalchuk: Has agreed to a 1 Year contract extension worth 5.2M for the upcoming season.

LW: Kovalchuk is the Captain of a team that wasn't expected to do to much this season "Due to just joining the league this year". The ownership, GM, and Coaches have worked hard to make the moves and decisions they felt were necessary to make a lasting first impression. Kovalchuk without a doubt is one of those pieces! Kovalchuk spent the last 5 years in the KHL before returning this season when signing with the Elite Bulldogs. In his first season back he's played in all 80 games so far this season collecting 24 Goals, 45 Assists for 69 Points. 21 of those 69 points have come on the Powerplay (6 Goals, 15 Assists). He has a +/- of +15 and has tallied 4 game winning goals.

The decision to resign Kovalchuk was an "easy decision" said by GM Terence Baker. He also praised his star saying "He's lead this team well, we couldn't have asked for too much more than what he's already done."
------------------------------
RW: James Neal: Has agreed to stay with the team after signing a 3 Year extension worth a reportedly 16.15M by the end of the 3 years.

GM Terence Baker and GM Rob Blake made this move only 36 games into the season. When with Blake's Nashville Predators he managed to collect 23 points in 36 games (13 Goals and 10 Assists). Since being with the Elite Bulldogs he's averaged a point a game. He's appeared in 37 games with the Elite Bulldogs and has 37 points on the season since being traded (23 Goals and 14 Assists). He's a +/- of 11 and has 6 Game winning goals for the Elite Bulldogs.

Head Coach Adam Oates has said "This is the type of guy you want on the ice in clutch moments" and GM Terence Baker on signing Neal simply said "No Brainer".
------------------------------
LD: Derek Forbort: Has agreed to stick around another year after signing a 1 Year extension work 1.76M for the upcoming season.

Derek had a struggling start to another season with the LA Kings (2016/2017 Season he was a -17, 2017/2018 starting season -14 in 34 games). LA Kings decided to part ways with him, and since being with the Halton Hills Bulldogs, he's shown up in some key moments. Where he only had 3G, 6A, 9PTS in 34 games with LA, He came to the Elite Bulldogs, was placed on the first line pairing (w/ Luke Schenn) and has been a clutch defender for the goalies. He has played 42 games with the Elite Bulldogs and has 5G, 14A, for 19PTS and is a +/- of 19.

Adam Oates was asked what his thoughts on Forbort were, his reply "A big man who puts his goalies needs before his own. A pure example of what you want in front of your goalie". GM Terence Baker wasn't around to be questioned, but sources in the scenes have said that "Baker had a lot of faith in Forbort coming here" and saying "He requested Oates to try him on the top pairing" and with that, he became one of the Top 2 defenders and hasn't looked back since.
