Winnipeg Jets (20-10-2) at Montreal Canadiens (18-14-2)

The Canadiens continue to limp through November and now into December. Montreal currently sits in 6th place in the East with 38 points. They are currently behind the East leading Bruins by 13 points. Montreal is the 3rd seed in the Atlantic. Montreal now officially has the worst PP in the NHL with a 7.9% success rate. The PK is ranked 2nd in the NHL with a 88.7% kill rate.

Canadiens C, 28 year old Riley Callander is from Mississauga, ON. The two-way forward is a great goal scorer according to the scouts. Callander currently centers the 1st line and plays the role of sniper and counter attacking forward. The 2-time All-Star has played all 4 seasons with the Canadiens. This season he has 9 goals and 17 points with 26 PIMs in 34 games. For his career he has 109 goals and 209 points with 202 PIMs in 275 games.

The Jets are 4th in the West with 42 points, 2 points behind the 1st place Stars. Winnipeg has a 20.3 % success rate on the PP which is ranked 2nd in the NHL. On the PK, the Jets are ranked 6th at 87.1%.

Winnipeg goes up 2-1 at 16:55 when LW Colin Majkowski scored his 10th of the year while the teams were on a 4 on 4. The Jets out shot the Habs 10-7 in the 1st.

Montreal ties up the game 2-2 at 17:33 of the 2nd when RW Samuel Hebert gets his 10th of the year. The shots were 6-5 for the Jets in the 2nd period.

Montreal goes up 3-2 at 6:14 of the 3rd period when veteran LW Quincy Kaminsky gets his 4th of the year. Winnipeg ties it up 3-3 at 14:56 when RW J D Martins gets his 8th of the year. Montreal keeps the pressure and goes up 4-3 at 17:42 when Josef Kramar gets his 8th of the season. Montreal hangs on for the win. Montreal out shot Winnipeg 15-10 in the 3rd period and 27-26 overall in the game. The Jets were 0 for 7 on the PP while Montreal was 1 for 8. Montreal's last win was November 10th, a 4-1 win over the Predators. The win snaps Montreals 10 game losing streak.

Montreal's LW Josef Kramar was the 1st star, he had a goal. The 21 year old from Pisek, CZE now has 8 goals and 14 points in 35 games with 26 PIMs. The 1981 QMJHL Goal Scorer Award winner had a career high with 17 goals last year.
