Montreal came out of the gate 10-0 but have since gone 5-4-1 and struggled to score goals. Defensively Montreal has been very solid, improving solidly. Offensively we have struggled, especially on the PP. Overall very happy with a 15-4-1 record, but a little concerned with our inability to score.

Jonathan Harper is still the class of the defensive core. Harper and Lambright are primarily the 1st pairing night after night. Montreal will send down Kevin Steinberg to the AHL. Montreal will promote RD Zack Davey. The 20 year old had 6 goals and 17 points with 92 PIMs in 18 games this season in the AHL. Last year he had 22 goals and 70 points with 360 PIMs in his final season with the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL.

The first line is Robert Hendriksson, Riley Callander and Samuel Hebert, no surprise they are 1-2-3 in scoring for Montreal. Montreal will demote Ralph Blaney and Brayden Laureano to the AHL. Montreal will promote C Cal Couling. The 21 year old has 8 goals and 24 points with 42 PIMs in 18 AHL games this year. Last year he had 27 goals and 66 points in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls. He was signed by Montreal as a free agent. He won the Les Cunningham Award in 1983 (AHL MVP). Montreal will also promote RW Cory Brueggeman. The 21 year old has 5 goals and 14 points in 18 AHL games this year. Last season he scored 1 goal and had 5 points with 2 PIMs in 32 NHL games with Montreal.
