In the bottom of the first, the Rangers loaded the bases with two out. Biittner was hit by a pitch on an 0-1 count to force home the game's first run. Harris then brought two in with a single. For the second straight night, the Rangers put three runs on the board in the first inning.

In the top of the third, Kelly hit a two run homer.

In the bottom of the seventh, Harrah hit a two out solo home run.

In the top of the eighth, with a runner on third and one out, Mike Paul took the mound for the Rangers. Allen hit an RBI single. With a runner on first and two out, Ray Burris took the mound for the Rangers.

After a leadoff single by Wynn, Vicente Romo took the mound for the White Sox in the bottom of the eighth.

In the top of the ninth, the White Sox had the tying run on first with two out. Burris struck out Williams to end the game.
