Walkers news: St. Louis lands LHP Duffy in deal with Chicago

The St. Louis River Walkers have completed a trade that would send AAA third baseman J.D. Davis to the Chicago G-Men in exchange for left-handed starting pitcher Danny Duffy.
With Jacob deGrom expected to miss most if not all of the 2020 season with a torn rotator cuff, the Walkers were in need of a solid No. 4 starter and they hope Duffy can fill that bill.
Duffy, 31, went 12-9 for the last place G-Men in 2019 with a 3.55 ERA in 32 starts.
In Davis, the Walkers give up one of their best AAA players.

However, Nick Delmonico with having established himself as one of top third baseman in the NL, and the fact Davis can only play third base, the 26-year-olds opportunities in the majors seem limited.
Davis batted .314 with 28 homers and 93 RBIs for the AAA Memphis Redbirds in 2019.
