There's no way he was getting into the Hall on his power numbers, and even 2,000 hits would be a long shot (he'd have to keep averaging 200 hits for the next seven seasons, until he was 40); 3,000 hits was an impossibility.

He may have been one of the great players of his day. And he would have had a definite shot at the hall if he had started earlier.

But when it's all said and done, the numbers just wouldn't justify a trip to Cooperstown.

The league probably didn't start until he was 30.
