Just checking my historical league records and it seems Red Downey of the Kansas City Monarchs struck out 411 times in one season!!!

What are your records for strikeouts by batters in a season?

Just for background: My league is a historical league including negro league players, expanded by four teams (New York Mets, KC Monarchs, Texas Rangers and Brooklyn Bums, with the Dodgers and the Giants starting off on the Left Coast.)
