Save the last three years of his career, Barnett was a decent Brittish Heavyweight holding a win over Paddy Slavin and a few good but losing efforts against Don Cockell. Those last three years however were terrible. Barnett went 2-9-0 and had one fight stopped by the referee on the grounds that Barnett was completly outclassed and too far behind on points to win. On the brighter side, Barnett was only stopped twice in 41 career bouts and both can arguably be discounted; one was the referee stoppage already mentioned, the other was in Barnett's first pro bout.
