I have four players cleared waivers in order to remove them from the 40 man roster and assign them to the minors. The waivers have been cleared but now I can not assign them to the minors - the message I get is that they have a big league contract & must be on the 40 man roster. This is why I moved them to waivers in the first place!

My understanding (from Tranaction FAQ) is that if players clear waivers they could be assigned or if they have have enough years, refuse the assignment & elect to become a FA. (I have reviewed my players years & it would seem I should be able to move them) What Do I Have to do to have them cleared, off the 40 and assigned to the Minors ?
