If they're going to trade that away, they have more than a right to ask for an Edwin Jackson or Dan Meyer. Despite how great those guys may have been in AA and AAA-ball, and no matter how ready they may be considered for the majors, neither of them are Tim Hudson. They have no track record to back anything up.

It's not asking too much - it's asking too little. Why trade a proven ace who is arguably one of the top 5 pitchers in the game for prospects? They should be able to get at least one proven player out of this deal.
Obviously I'm not Billy Beane and I don't know what he's thinking for this season. The Kendall deal made me think the A's are still looking to contend in 2005. A deal of Huddy for prospects sure looks like rebuilding to me, and that sucks.
