The Braves and A's are talking about Hudson again. Schuerholtz is about to give away too much. From MLB.com....
"In exchange for Hudson, the A's are seeking Dan Meyer, a left-handed pitcher the Braves say is definitely ready for the Majors, and two other prespects. The southpaw posted a 2.67 ERA while making 27 appearances between Double A-Greenville and Triple-A Richmond last season."
The Braves have a long history of trading away their great young talent under Schuerholtz (Jason Schmidt, Kevin Millwood, etc.). Of course, they keep winning division titles so who am I to complain. But, I hate to see the potentially great young guns go. I saw Meyer pitch many times in 2003 with the Rome Braves (A ball) and he really is an impressive young pitcher. I have followed him closely through Greenville to Richmond. I wish they would keep him and let him develop in the majors - as they did with Glavine and Smoltz.
They have three other great young arms in the minor system right now. Hope they allow at least one of them prove himself before handing him a parachute.
