1949 Draft Picks

CF/RF Mark Silcox - Mark is an aggressive swinger and will get on base a lot more with hits than walks as he lacks the discipline to take pitches. He's got average HR power potential, but looks to be a good hitter to the gaps. He is a good defensive outfielder, although I wish he had a stronger throwing arm. He's got excellent base running instincts but only decent speed.

1B Walter White - Walter looks to be an average hitter with decent power to the gaps, but he doesn't look like he's got much HR hitting potential. He's got an excellent glove at 1B for a rightie. His range isn't quite as impressive however. He's an excellent sac bunter, but has little chance of bunting for a hit as he doesn't have much foot speed.

SP Jerry Binette - Jerry's a very average RHP Starter in almost every respect. He only has two pitches... fastball and the split finger fastball. His best attribute is his stamina. He's only 18, so hopefully he's got some hidden potential there somewhere.

MR Bill Davis - Bill has a decent range of pitches and is a lefty. However, he ranks a little below average in just about every talent category. He does have decent range and a decent glove defensively, but that's about all I can brag about. But hey, what do you expect from the 2nd to the last pick in the draft. He's another 18 y/o who will hopefully surprise us with some hidden potential he has not yet shown.
