Nice idea, but a tough decision. We have Pittsburgh and Cleveland as the baseball powerhouses recently, Chicago a dominant NFL team, Notre Dame and Army were dominant in college football but Texas may have a say in things this year. Detroit won the Stanley Cup. Kentucky is the class of college basketball but the New York schools (NYU, CCNY), Alabama and Holy Cross are consistantly strong. Dallas won the NBA title. Really no city right now with a couple of champions.

I know that is just one category in choosing best sports city but since I cant gauge attendance and fan excitement it is the only criteria I can go by.

I am open for suggestions if anyone feels which city is the Best Sports City of 1947.
