Whoa, whoa, lay off man. All he said was that he hadn't heard of the guy, and I can think of several reasons why he might not have. That doesn't make him dumb or a liar. I see this post as you trying to regain your pride after your suggestion to vote for Tillman was shot down by everyone in the thread. And for what it's worth, I agree with them; yes, the guy is a hero, he gave up his life for his country, and he probably made a mean potato casserole. And like BW said, he's already received numerous awards for these (including the 1999 Cardinals Bake-Off). But let's keep the sports awards pertaining to sports, please?

Now, who should it really be? Armstrong is great, but we can't keep giving it to him every year. Phelps does have the DUI. How about Curt Schilling? I don't like this team business either, I wonder why they put the whole Red Sox team on there instead of just him. If you're talking best individual player on the list, it has to be Federer.

EDIT: And because the choices sucked so bad, I didn't even vote. I mean, come on, Ichiro?!?
