Exactly the same has happened to me and I haven't deleted any files...
I've been playing on both 6.10 and 6.11 and have discovered a crash that occurs at the end of every season I've completed. Basically what happens is that after the playoffs finish and I click the 'go to next season' option it goes through the generating league and team reports steps then it says proceeding to the next year....which is followed by the familiar 'C++ unexpected run time error' and crash.
From reverting to old versions I can work out that this probably occurs when it tries to process the free agents. After the crash I can continue the game but I completely lose the free agent and amateur draft phases and go straight into the Rule V draft. By this stage all those players who should have been free agents are automatically resigned for the same dollar amount through the season by the computer!
I've tried all those fixes which seem to alleviate some of the other crashes: enabling/disabling the sound+menu animation, checking the number of draft rounds, completely reinstalling the game, moving the draft to midseason etc and none of them work. If I go back to 6.03 then this problem never arises....
I this only happening to me? and does anyone have any idea how to solve this, I'm getting steadily more angry!
