BTW, the game is not generating these players
|
I didnt say they were generating them i said they are developing them. Once you start playing, the computer starts moving the ratings around and that has nothing to do with me. Now as for the players you mentioned:
Ansman-was a top 10 prospect after he was drafted acording to Baseball America and some area acouts that i talked to. I also suggest you look at his stats. Most recently, 19 HR in 342 AB. Now i would like for someone to come up with his numbers in the major leagues. You cant cause he has a whole zero AB's there so no one knows what he would do in the majors so i had to use judgement and advice on what he could/would do in the majors.
Now im looking at Snyder and Seabol in my roster set and i see a 2 star (snyder) and a 1.5 star (Seabol) and once again, i suggest you take a look at their stats with 2004 being WAY over what i rated them at so they should maybe be higher than a 1.5 or a 2. This is proof that the minute you start play in the game, the computer AI does what it wants with ratings
Kevin Witt stumps me as i have him as a 1 star so im not seeing what you are. once again, proof that hte game did it and not me. The roster set that is on my site is the exact same thing that i have with the exception of managerial changes and awards.
Leone is rated as a 2 star in MY set. I also would like it if you checked his stats for the last 6 years (last 5 preferred) and you may be surprised.
I dont even HAVE a Richard Branson in my file so i cant explain him to you lol
another mystery-I have Hoorelbeke as a 1.5 star 1b, not a RF as you have above so i cant help you there either
Thornton (i have 2.5 star), Oxspring (2 star), Beltran (2 star), Madritsch (2.5 star), Rosario (1 star)
Beltran is a laugh cause i have him in my set as a 2 star MR not a stud SP as you listed him. And check their stats, it would help.
Ormond (2.5),Haines (3),Bean (2.5),Peralta (3.5),Childers (2.5),Andrade (2.5)
Once again, check the stats.
I keep saying to check the stats because that is how you make the star ratings so they are pretty important in making roster sets. I would like you to make a small roster set based off of written material like magazines or websites and not based off your opinion. There are a few players in my set that i would like to hammer because i dont feel they are that good. Perfect example is Jeff DaVanon of the Angels. He is a 3 star OF and i dont see him as anything more than a 1.5 star 4th OF but the stats make him a 3 and i made my set based off of that and not opinion. Take a look at Adam Dunn. Do you know how many people have told me that Dunn should be a 4-5 star player? Sorry i dont see it, i see him as a 3 star player with mediocre defense in OF and at 1b and he has no discipline at the plate with that cute SO total this season. However after putting the stats in, he is a 3.5 star player.

Have you heard of any of these people in real life?
|
I would venture to think that i might know more of these players that the normal person as i was employed by minor league baseball and i dealt with a couple of them first hand and even had the chance to go fishing and hang out with some of them. Chris Oxspring is a goo example as i have spent alot of time with him when he was in Lake Elsinore and Mobile and the game isnt going to mention that his command is MUCH better than his stats say but i have to keep that off the game and out of my mind when im rating these players. Now there is a REAL quick fix to this problem of yours. Dont use the opening day set as it is a victim of a conversion ratings mess that i could not control and i have spent the last 6 months fixing. You may want to get my roster set that is updated as of Nov. 2nd. I dont know where you got the set from so for all i know, someone may have edited the file to reflect their opinion as i only control the downloads from my home site. I also suggest making a roster set yourself based off of nothing connected to your opinion of a player and see what you come up with, you may be surprised to see how some players come out being rated. And as i mentioned, once you play a single game, the computer AI will mess with the ratings i have put in and there is nothing i can do about that. This will answer the question that has come up sometimes about using my set and the computer releases players from AI controlled teams when they shouldnt have been released. The plain and simple answer is that the computer started tinkering with the ratings and felt that they had a better option and waived them or released them. Trust me its not as cut and dry as some may think. I do appreciate GREATLY (more than anyone but my wife knows) that you even use my set at all, but as i explained above, once i put it up and it gets downloaded and games are played, there is nothing i can do.
