What's been the most depressing injury you've ever had happen?

So far mine has to be the 3B who was the #1 overall pick for me a couple years ago, spent the year in AAA, was handed the starting job in the majors in the next season and won Rookie of the Year.

Started off the year after that one and after he and the team both struggle initially, he and the White Sox both start getting hot and take the division lead around the middle of May when I get this message:

"3B Milan Noble has injured (Out For Season!) Stop Sim?"

AARRRRRGGGGGHHH!

So, not liking my AAA options, I wound up trading the 26 year old 3B I had down there (even though my scout said he was ready for the majors) straight up for 36 year old UI Craig Counsell, who has the high contact ratings I like... plus he won the Gold Glove at 3B last year.

Amazingly enough, the team's managed to keep on winning without Milan. If we can do this, it'll be my first over .500 season since I've started (in 4 years), my first division title, *and* my first playoff appearance.

Lot of season left, though.
