Ok
<<<respectfully (rare, for me), it is NOT a lot bigger than that. FPS did it 10 years ago with a small sized program. instead of having your program determine position requirements, player values, training, trade offers, etc., you just cut it down to the bone and let all of those things be determined by the human owner.>>>
There are issues around:
1. Allowing folks to upload lineup changes, releases etc.
2. Allowing folks to upload GM tendencies and individual player usage settings
3. Some way to determine/arbitrate how to handle the in-season free agent signing
4. Distribution of results to team owners
5. Free agent and Ammy draft
6. Allowing for there to be at least some teams being computer controlled
That said, it used to be a lot more daunting of a prospect when each team had an individual scout (thus a different ratings mix for each player) -- the fact that ratings are now consistent across teams makes this plausible.
My contention is that just adding a way for a human to control multiple teams does not equal multiplayer support. In fact, it opens Pandora's box. I guess I'd rather think it through more (unless others chime in here with similar sentiments).
BTW, out of respect for OOTP I'd prefer to take this discussion to the PureSim board. In fact I am no longer going to reply to posts in this thread -- I have worn out my welcome here.
Cheers Markus if you are out there -- In the name of reciprocation, I'll point PureSimmers over here with a post.
