PBL 2006 Offseason starting next week. FLA, TB, KC open

PBL will be starting it's 3rd season next week with the flip to 2006 using OOTP 6.10 on Monday. Free agency and drafting will begin soon afterwards.

PBL is a very active league with a high percentage of original owners that begin using 2004 CBL rosters. While the National League is basically full, we do have a few openings in the American League.

Please visit the PBL website at http://www.pbl.ootp-leagues.com.

Open Franchises:
Kansas City - 66-96 in 2005. 1B Mike Sweeney, upstart CF Corey Patterson, and breakout performer Aaron Guiel (30 HR in 2005) anchor the KC lineup, while a young rotation begins to mature.
Florida - 69-93 in 2005. The 2003 World Champions struggled through a few injuries in 2005 but hope to rebound with most of it's core still in tact. Multi-facted stuff youngster Miguel Cabrera has moved over to 2B, becoming possibly the best young player at the position. Veteran SS Nomar Garciaparra brought the lumber to a position that hadn't had much production since the departure of Edgar Renteria. Major prospects Zach Grienke, Taylor Buchholz team with veteran Brad Penny to form a rotation with some great upside.

Financial incentives (such as a cash reset, etc.) may be considered in order to fill the spots quickly, pending league approval, as we would like to be full by the time free agency starts next week. A $90,000,000 soft-salary cap is in place to encourage parity and competition throughout our league and new TV Broadcast contracts will be renegotiated after the 2007 season.

If you are interested in one of these teams, please contact the Kybjones317 or JoeyIsTheGame on AIM or JoeyIsTheGame@aol.com via email.

Congratulations to our two previous champions on their World Series victories:

2004 Los Angeles Dodgers (JPRedSoxFan) - Led by stellar ace Jason Schmidt and the hot hitting Shawn Green, the Dodgers were able to withstand St. Louis, Houston, and Boston for it's latest world championship.

2005 Houston Astros (Sidzbak) - Thanks to an complete team effort in Game 7, the Lance Berkman, Jeff Kent, and Jeff Bagwell's Astros were able to make a surprise comeback to up-end the WS favorite, Boston.

We look forward to contact from any prospective owners. Thanks again for considering PBL.
