Not a bad idea actually but I won't personally send my veterans into the minor leagues to retire. Unless I absolutely half to make a spot for them I will keep them on my roster as I can't imagine these players accepting that assignment if they had a long successful career. If the guy was always on the fringe sure I might, but not my aging stars. So I force myself to let these guys play things out, sort of a house rule I guess.
