Trading Process
I'd love to see the trading process lengthened a bit, to inject a few more things to do between each simulated game, week, etc.
I am thinking that you could make a trade proposal to a team and send it over. The next day you'll get a response which can be accept, decline without comment, or decline with comment. Comments would be: alternate proposals, ways to improve the trade to be acceptable (add prospects, add cash, add a veteran, add a specific position, etc.), or a "we have no plans to trade this player" response.
After a trade is accepted, the second team has a final chance to confirm it or cancel it.
Trades in real life can often take weeks to evolve to a point where they are acceptable. And teams often have several trade offers being juggled to try to find the best deal or the first acceptable deal. In game, this would just add to the amount of time and effort you spend managing your team and roster, rather than compressing trading into a single, rather binary, user interface screen.
You could also add an option to keep negotiations private or public, so that you could leak word of the deal. That way teams could get wind that a deal for player "x" is being worked on (he might be available), and try to make a better deal, because they want the player or even just to keep the player from joining a rival.
It would help find better potential offers or help you not miss out on a player you really wanted.
