I've gotta agree, but then, I think Marino was a little overrated, as was Montana. Marino put up flashy numbers but couldn't win when it mattered, and Montana was a product of the system whose ultimate good trait was his clutchness, thus leading people to think he was much "greater" than he really was.
Of those in my lifetime:
1) Elway
2) Favre
3) Montana
4) Marino
5) Brady
Peyton would already be on that list if he could just learn how to win the big game. Warner if he had been good for longer than three seasons (although he does look pretty good this year, if not what he was in the StL glory days). Brady is on there because the guy just knows how to win, period, even if his numbers aren't HOF material yet.
Sorry to derail the thread. I just like to mention Elway as being #1 anytime the opportunity shows itself.
