True, but there are a couple of reasons I did it the way I did.
1) The original logo is only at 150x150 size, so that's really small to work with. I didn't think I'd get much of a clean selection.
2) I didn't really think of it. When it comes to logos I still tend to "think" in CorelDRAW terms.
3) It's been a long time since I used CorelDRAW, and I've forgotten a ton of things. Doing as much as possible in it helps me to get back up to speed in that program. Mind you, this does entail large amounts of swearing and cursing as I struggle to figure out how in the heck to do something.
But it will be beneficial in the long run.
4) As you pointed out, the text looks cleaner, and I like that since it matches the "Forest City" at the top in terms of the quality of the appearance.
Well, these at least sound like plausible reasons, so I'm sticking to them!
