I have played PTP/DMB since 1987 when the first computerized version came out. I play OOTP these days, sometimes PURESIM because I like playing with the fictional players. Personally if I were to play with actual players I find the engine with PTP 8.0 very good. I simply quit playing PTP after I purchased 40 season disks and realized that it was getting to be an expensive hobby, and it took to long to make my own disks. PTP/DMB actually duplicate seasons well if you play replays....

Puresim was my favorite until version 5.0 of OOTP and then 6.0. I think that Both games are very good. With Puresim it was fun reading about the development of the game prior to its initial release (back when I had OOTP2). But, I wished there were more utilities for the game. Now OOTP is very good but what sets it ahead of PURESIM is that there are many 3rd party utilities that adds so much to the game. I think without CATOBASE I would probably play Puresim more, now it is 5% PURESIM, 95% OOTP....
