I would not count on him learning 3b. If he ever does I doubt if he would get above a E or D. 1B RARELY can make good utility men. Especially if they have some size to them.

As for the rest, it sounds like you are doing a better job of GM than I if you are evenin such a dilemna, so i will not venture to say what you should do.
