How long does it take to fill a league? My Jamaica League took 25 days to fill 15 teams, and I had many advantages. My biggest boost was having been the Commissioner of the NPBL for almost a year beforehand; it has 24 teams. I had also been active on these boards for well over a year. There was no way it could have been easier for me to attract owners, and it still took me almost a month for 15 teams. Commissioners who start new leagues need to know that it will take a while to fill their leagues at first, especially if they’re inexperienced.

There’s no way to tell how many leagues are starting and folding, or how many owners are joining or quitting leagues. If all that information were posted in a public place, we could figure some sort of index to reflect the activity in OotP online leagues and their populations. We could try to collect data and figure something out but I don’t think it would be accurate enough to go through the trouble of tracking.
