So, though the issue that started this thread might be an in-season only bug, this apparently is another problem, and actually of a greater magnitude because it affects Free Agency, and it's not a "just add a dollar" kind of thing.

If he had this same reaction to all teams, I would agree that it would be a bug. However, if he only had this response to one team, then other variables come into play. My guess is that the player in question could have been signed for his asking price by other teams during this time.
