Just from observing the game itself, I'd estimate that more stats would require, as you said more harddrive space (minor league stats alone would quadruple the harddrive requirements, since you'd be keeping track of 4 times as many statistics - ML, AAA, AA, A).

Anyway, I can't imagine any developer worth their salt releasing a patch for a product that quadruples one of the system requirements. Mr. Joe Blow with an older machine and say 200mb of HD space picks up STB2k3 in a store after reading the sys reqs, then goes home and downloads the latest patch which increases the system requirements so that they exceed what he has available.

Anything that increases reqs should IMHO be a fully new version, not a minor version upgrade (i.e. 4--->5 not 4.0-->4.1).

To be honest, the ability to keep track of minor league stats exists now via 3rd-party utilities anyway. I would definitely like to see these in a future version, along with dozens of other stats that aren't kept on a career-basis (situational stats, team stats) or at all (HOF Standards, the new Runs Created formula instead of the old one, pythagorean standings, full team and league stats for everything tracked in the game).

I dunno, rather than doing a complete database overhaul in order to add one relatively minor feature for 4.1, I'd rather Markus considered completely rethinking the way statistical presentation is handled for OOTP5. It would be great if there were a section of statistics which would allow you to select different filters aka HH2k3's "league leaders" area but with greater accuracy and more functionality. Maybe it could be called "league reports" or something. The presentation and filterability of statistics on a team/league/association level is the only thing I dislike about the current interface and much prefer in HH2k3 (except that it doesn't really work correctly).
