For anyone interested in a hybrid-historical league,
Greatest Generation Baseball has a pair of openings: the Detroit Tigers (currently in the World Series which is concluding tomorrow) and the Chicago White Sox.
The league started with the 1941 season with the premise being "what if WWII didn't cause so many players to serve their country?" - we're just finishing up the 1953 season and still have more than half of our original GMs. We expanded by 4 teams in 1946 (using the "extra" players who came into the league during the war years).
We are planning to expand this season, but I will hold expansion if I can't get the existing teams filled (why expand when you don't have enough GMs to fill the existing teams?). The player ranks will be swelled by players out of the old Pacific Coast League.
We sim 4 times per week - M, T, Th & F, alternating 7/8 gamedays per sim to do a month's worth of games per week or real-time (making our regular season six weeks long).
We draft rookies two years ahead of debut - the rookies drafted this coming off-season will debut in 1956 and use full finances, but no coaches/scouts.
