This gets weirder and weirder.

I get 3 or more (my memory stinks) responses from people saying they want to join. So I write them back and say what I usually say. "Great. Send me an email to confirm and you're in".

The first two don't write back. Why did they write in the first place? I suppose it's not my place to try and understand these things. The 3rd guy (or maybe he's the 4th) does actually write back and he's in the league. He tells me how much he wants to be in it, how great it looks, and blah, blah, blah.

First sim he doesn't send a lineup. I send him an email asking why since it was his first sim and I would think he would want to reshape the team. He replies that he just got overwhelmed and he was sorry and he would send one in for the next sim. It was a very polite email.

The 2nd sim comes along and he writes and says he has no team for this one sim, could I do an auto-lineup, and he will do a lineup from now on. He is very polite and writes a nice email. What could I say?

3rd siim coming up and he sends an email saying that he must resign. It was a very polite email. This person, whoever he is, has good manners.

This means that we still need an Expos owner. I have obviously set the bar too high to get in this league. (You can breath, you can type, you own the game). I will lower my standards and take even bigger losers than the 22 other guys in this league.

I just don't get it. Not every league is for everyone. Some like historical, some like fictional, some like Marilyn Monroe while others prefer Jayne Mansfield. (Personally I prefer breathing woman and not corpses, but I will not pass judgement on others).

But I would think that someone would want to join an old, stable and established league. Old as in a few years (2 or 3) and in it's 15th season. (We only sim 7 days at a time).

I am not begging, I am just trying to understand and I really don't. I see lots of posts from people looking for leagues. I get emails from people saying they want to join and then they disappear.

Does this happen to other people who run leagues? I saw a post from GDBL looking for an owner and it seems they couldn't get a bite. That is a really old league. I was in it about 100 years ago and quit it about 90 years ago and it's still around. What gives? Are stable leagues out of style? Should I fold my tent?

If you have a viewpoint please share it. I am curious and I will not insult you if I think your opinion is ridiculous.

Or, if you want to be the Expos, just email the commish from the ACL.
