Pirates can't control Astros bats, lose 2 of 3

Pirates vs. Astros

Game 1: Odaliz Perez (2-1, 5.29) vs. Andy Pettitte (4-1, 6.03)

The Astros continue to show they're not invincible, losing by 7 to the Pirates. Andy Pettitte continued his bad pitching performance this year, allowing 9 runs in 4.2 innings. The only bright spot for Houston was Taylor Buchholz, who pitched the rest of the game in relief for Pettitte, allowing 2 hits and no runs. On the Pirates side, Odalis Perez went 8 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, while Craig Wilson went 3-5 with a homer.

The Astros bounced back from a big loss with a big win. Kelly Stinnett, recently traded to the Astros, proved his worth, going 2-4 with a homer in his first start. Lance Berkman also had a great game to lead the Astros to the win. Roger Clemens went 5.2 innings allowing 5 runs, but still came away with the win.
