While most thing have gone right for the Devil Rays so far this season, everything seems to be going wrong for the White Sox. While it is still very early, The White Sox are wlready five games back in the American League Central, and will need to take this series from the Devil Rays to stay within reach of the playoff race in the Central division. Currently, Brett Tomko is the only starter with an ERA under 4.95, which is not going to cut it for a team many thought should make it to the playoffs.As a team, the Sox have a 7-.49 ERA, worse in the league and a .259 batting average, 22nd overall.

The Devil Rays are coming off a strong showing against the Orioles and are hoping to stay within reach of the Red Sox in the American League East. The yankees have dusted themselves off and have climbed back into a tie for second with the Rays. Rocco Balldeli and Carl Crawford continue to be the spark for the offense, hittin above .400. A poor bullpen has plagued the team. Tampa bay has three relievers with ERAs over 4.00 and a 5.72 ERA (25th) as a team.
