free agent eligibility
Using Pierre's utility, I have gone through and tried to fix the ML service time for every player in my league.
Players should not be eligible for free agency with less than 1032 (6 yrs x 172 days) of major league service time.
I am seeing some players eligible for free agency with less than this amount of service time. They played partial seasons, and thus have 6 (or more) major league seasons, but less than 1032 days. For instance, they may have played 6 full or partial seasons, totalling 900 days. Their page says "Years of MLB Service: 6 years, 40 days (900 total days)" and it is making them eligible for free agency. The game is apparently reading the 6 years, and disregarding the days of service time.
What do I do about this? Do I have to go back through and also change the years of MLB for every player? What do I change it to, if they really have played 6 seasons, but not six FULL seasons? Is this problem going to continue when I have players who come up entirely through OOTP6? (Right now, my league has only played one season in OOTP6, so service time was not counted correctly for most of the players' careers.) Are players who play 6 or 7 partial seasons always going to be eligible for free agency? Does days of service time matter at all?
