2009 Sim #4
05/07 - 9-0 loss vs Tennessee - We've now been shutout for 4 straight games, and have scored 1 run in the last 6 days. Alphonse Nietz was roughed up for 6 ER in 4.1 innings, not that it mattered.
05/08 - 4-3 loss vs Tennessee - Robert Jones pitched well for 7 innings, but left with the game knotted at 3. Garrard allowed the losing run and took his 3rd loss of the young season. Bick Horizon had a pair of doubles and Keith Tracey hit his 4th home run as we finally put up some runs.
05/09 - 5-1 loss @ New York - A Manny Talamantez solo HR (2) was one of our 2 hits today. Stang gave up a career-high 12 hits in 7 innings to take the loss.
05/10 - 6-5 loss @ New York - We were up 5-3 in the bottom of the 9th, but Scull couldn't hold the lead. He allowed 3 ER in 0.2 innings and took his 2nd loss of the year.
05/11 - 7-0 loss @ New York - A Manny Talamantez single was our only hit. Clowers was pounded. That's all you need to know.
05/12 - 6-5 WIN vs Louisiana - Alphonse Nietz was injured after 1.1 innings; nothing severe. So it was up to the bullpen to win us this one. They came through with a little help from homers by Horizon (5) and Claus (7).
05/13 - 9-6 loss vs Louisiana - Horizon (6), Claus (8) and Leto (1) homered but Jones allowed 7 ER in 6.1 innings.
05/14 - 4-1 loss vs Louisiana - We were 1-hit again, this time with Galyon picking up the single. Not too bad an outing by Stang, but bad enough for the loss.
05/15 - OFF DAY
05/16 - 2-0 loss vs Massachusetts - Kearns allows just 2 runs in a CG effort, but there was no offense (again). Kearns is 1-5 with a 3.14 ERA this season.

That wasn't our best sim from a pitching standpoint. Our team ERA jumped nearly half a point. Luckily we avoided major injury, but I can't say much else good.

I REALLY need Carlos Martinez to start hitting. Oh, and Pat Galyon. And Manny Talamantez. And M-Rod. Heck, if your name isn't Bick Horizon or Osvaldo Angelo, you need to be doing more!!! Well, Tracey is doing decent enough for a rookie. And Claus is having a better year than he did last year...
