Season has ~30 days left (assuming it runs through about the end of Sept), so the guy won't have more than maybe 2yr 50days of MLB service. Less than 3 years means he will be an auto-resign,
if he is making the league minimum. It is odd that he is not, so I am not certain how it will go. I would guess that he will be treated like an auto-resign but get $303k next season also.
Do us a favor and drop a note here after you see what happens to him.
