We may have all forgotten the great race in 1915 between the Sox and Cleveland. The two teams finished in a dead heat a top the AL table with 90-65 records after the great one Andrew Murphy twirled a three hit shutout to beat the A's 3-0 while the Indians blew a 3-1 lead with allowing seven runs in the bottom of the 8th to the Red Sox. With the standings deadlocked, the teams met on Monday September 27 in Cleveland for a one game playoff to determine who would face the Cards in the Series.
