vs Phoenix (3-4 (10), 7-6 (11), 2-0)
3 hard fought games is the best way to describe what went down at Detroit Stadium between the Roughnecks and the Firebirds. Kevin Chambers pitched okay in the opener but he did have 7 walks in 8 innings. Richard Davis, Justin Bozarth and Arthur Freshour combined on the shutout in the rubber game. Most of the offense came in the 2nd game and Leslie Aaron led the way 4-6 with 2 RBI. Also in the finale Lucius Ranney got his first start and went 0-4. Brain 'Deacon' Kellum went 2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI for the Firebirds in the 2nd game also.

At Orlando (8-3, 3-2, 9-5)
A nice sweep in Orlando!! Plenty of story lines in this series. Barney Cordova gets the win (8-4) after having 6 innings of 2 run ball. Michael Price and Leslie Aaron both go 3-5 with 2 RBI and Michael is able to get HR #20 before the break. Also Ranney got another start and went 2-5 with 1 RBI. In the 2nd game Kevin Chambers got win 11 going 8 strong innings. Leslie Aaron went 2-2 with 2 BB's. He was caught stealing one time so after his last time up, the computer chose to pinchrun for him with RP Nolan Peters, who promptly steals a base. Nothing like being shown up on the basepaths by a pitcher. Blake Everett goes the distance in the closing game. Archie Chapman goes 4-4 1 RBI, Johnson O'Brien 3-4 1 RBI and 1 HR (7) and Michael Price 1-4 3 RBI (61). Also in the last game, Orlando SP Daniel Unknow faces 7 batters, he walks 3 and allows 4 hits, then gets pulled. All 7 scored. So his line reads 0 IP, 7 ER. Yikes!

vs Dallas (0-6, 7-3, 2-1)
I head into the All-Star Break tied with Denver for the FL lead. For Dallas 3B Bill Brown had a great first game 2-4 HR, 3 RBI. Lester Boatner pitched a 2 hitter for the Lawmen. In game 2, Michael Price went 3-4 3 RBI as he and Leslie Aaron both hit HR's. In the finale, David Tuma went 2-4 with 2 RBI. Barney Cordova (9-4) and Andrew Binford (4-10) pitched complete games in this classic pitchers duel.
