No, starters typically have 4 days of rest.
For example take the ace of a staff, like the Yankees' Mike Mussina.
Day 1: Mike Mussina -- work day
Day 2: Kevin Brown -- rest day #1
Day 3: Javier Vazquez -- rest day #2
Day 4: Jon Lieber -- rest day #3
Day 5: Jose Contreras -- rest day #4
Day 6: Mike Mussina -- work day
That's four days of rest between starts. There are five men in a rotation, so you and four other guys. You get a break when the other guys are pitchings, so that's four days of rest.
Other than a scheduled off-day, the only way to get 5 days of rest is to have a 6-man rotation.
So going with a 4-man rotation means having three days' of rest, which is only one fewer than usual.
