<b>Amos Carlin</b>
A New Orleans bantamweight, listed at #11 in <i>Ring</i>'s year-end rankings for 1926, who died the next year in a drowning accident. A picture of him, along with his obituary, is <a href="http://www.harrygreb.com/amoskidcarlin.html" target="_blank">here</a>.
(Although <i>Ring</i> had him ranked as a banty, Boxrec shows him as a flyweight. After all, Carlin fought Pancho Villa for the flyweight title. [Villa won in a newspaper decision.] In my universe, he is a fly.)
