1984 EXPANSION

With the start of the 1984 season and the addition of the Hollywood Stars and Houston Colt .45's to the American League, and the Kansas City Monarchs and San Diego Padres to the National league, the league commissioner has decided to realign each 14 team league into three divisions as follows:

Code:
American League

Eastern Division

Baltimore Terrapins
Boston Americans
New York Yankees
Philadelphia Athletics
Washington Senators

Midwest Division

Chicago White Sox
Cleveland Blues
Houston Colt .45's
Indianapolis Clowns
Louisville Colonels

Western Division

Detroit Tigers
Hollywood Stars
Milwaukee Brewers
Portland Beavers

National League Standings

Eastern Division

Boston Beaneaters
Brooklyn Superbas
Buffalo Bisons
New York Giants
Philadelphia Phillies

Central Division

Cincinnati Reds
Cleveland Spiders
Kansas City Monarchs
Pittsburgh Pirates

Western Division

Chicago Orphans
San Diego Padres

Each divisional winner will make the playoffs, as well as one WILDCARD. The first round round of the playoffs will be called the Divisional Series and will be a Best of 5 Series. The League Championship and the World Series will remain 7 games in length.
