After 6 professional fights, a 5-1-0 record including two wins over Robert Eugene who was just starting his career, Wilde fought Pierre van Deuren(1-6-0 at the time!) for the Belgian Heavyweight Title in March 1946. Wilde lost a 12 round decision. In November of that year thos two fought again for the Belgian title, this time Wilde KO'd van Deuren in the 10th round.

Wilde defended his title, beating Robert Eugene by 12 round decision in April 1948. Before that fight he beat Gunnar Barlund by way of a 10th round DQ. He then lost a 10 round decision to Jack London, lost by 7th round KO to Eugene in an earlier fight and lost by 8th round KO to Stephane Olek.After beating Eugene in the title fight, he later lost an 8 round decision to Kurt Schiegl, beat Jack London in an 8 round decision, then lost 2 fights to Johnny Williams. He defeated Paddy Slavin in 10 rounds in June 1950 then lost to Tommy Farr in his very next fight by 4th round KO.

Hein ten Hoff KO'd Wilde in the first round in March 1951, and then Werner Wiegand Ko'd him in the 2nd round right after that. Two months later Heinz Neuhaus KO'd him in 2.

During all this time, somewhere along the line, Wilde relinquished the Belgian HW Title somehow because in March 1952 BoxRec shows him and Robert Eugene fighting again for the title which BoxRec indicates as being vacant at the time. Wilde wins by 10th round TKO. In 1953 he fights Hans Friedrich 3 straight fights, drawing the first and winning decisions in the next two. In December 1953 he defeats a Young Al Bernard(2-4-1) defending his Belgian HW Title. Less then a month later Heinz Neuhaus KO's him in 4. Then in May 1954, He fights Robert Eugene for the 5th and final time in his career, again to defend the Belgian HW Title. This time, Eugene KO's Wilde in the 1st round and sends Piet into retirement.
