Fought regularly til May 1960. Did not fight then til March 1964 when he won a 6 round decision against a new guy on the block with no previous fight experience, Carlo Bocchieri. Those two tangled again that December, this time with Bocchieri winning a 6 round decision. At that time Chapron hung up the gloves for good.

From March 1957 through November 1957 Chapron fought 13 times winning 13 times all against total nobodys ring up 10 of his 11 career KO's. None of these guys had a winning record, 8 of them with no career wins at the time they fought Chapron. Then in December 1957 he fought for the 14th time that year, this time against someone with a record, Michel Diouf, a busy French Middleweight of the mid 50's to mid 60's who held the French Middleweight title for a brief period. Diouf had a career record of 43-32-6,20KO's. He was actually 25-4-2 at the time he fought Chapron.

Two months later Chapron lost his first fight an 8th round KO at the hand of a Yao Kouame(21-8-5,13) from the Ivory Coast. In his last fights from 58 thru 60, Chapron beat Paul Roux by a 6th round DQ and later lost to Roux by 13th round TKO. He beat once and drew one fight with Mariano Echevarria. Those 4 fights with Roux and Echevarria his most noteworthy fights.
