I was hoping to use the current MLB setup, only without a wildcard. That way the #1 seed could get a bye in the first round. Or have 2 wildcards with a 2/5 and 3/4 opening round matchup (with #1 still getting the bye). I dunno what would happen in the second round

So yeah, customizable would be sweet.
