While it’s possible that Web1000 has their system set up to grab your ftp transfer to their generic address and somehow route it to your webspace, it’s unlikely. All the ‘test connection’ is doing is pinging the address, is it not? It’s not trying to upload a sample file or anything, to see if it has that permission.

Exactly what I thought. However, he did say that he was able to use this same information in an FTP program, so it must be the way they have their server setup.
